5 disadvantages of installing Lead Acid Battery that no one will tell you about – Solar Energy Forever

5 disadvantages of installing Lead Acid Battery that no one will tell you about

Today, the use of electricity is increasing day by day and it becomes difficult to pass even a day without electricity. That is why there are power cuts at many places, so home appliances are run using inverter batteries. Charges the battery and then takes DC power from the battery and converts it into AC power to run your device.

In most of the inverters, you get only Lead Acid Battery because it is available at a very low price. But due to its low price, you get to see a lot of losses in this battery, about which no one tells you.

5 disadvantages of installing Lead Acid Battery that no one will tell you about

Disadvantages of lead acid battery in Hindi – So before buying a lead acid battery, you should know what are the disadvantages of using this battery. Here we are going to tell you 6 shortcomings of lead acid battery so that you will know whether lead acid battery is suitable for you. Is it beneficial or not?

1.Space/Size

As we all know that lead acid batteries are available only in 12 volt, so if someone wants to buy a 96v inverter then he will have to install eight batteries. A lot of space is required to install eight batteries.

Instead of this, if we talk about lithium battery, then you will also get 96 volt lithium battery in the market, which means you will have to install only one lithium battery instead of eight lead acid batteries. And now some such company has also come in the market which is making a lithium battery equivalent to 15 lead acid batteries. From this you can estimate how much space you can prepare a solar system of up to 10 kilo watts.

2. Maintenance

We have to add water to lead acid batteries again and again. If we forget to add water then the battery will dry up and it will get completely damaged due to which you will have to change the battery.

But on the other hand, you do not need to add any kind of water in Lithium battery, hence there is no maintenance of the battery.

3. Slow charging

If a lead acid battery is charged based on its rating, it may take about 10 hours to charge. If you charge it quickly with high current, the life of the battery gets reduced and the battery backup also gets reduced. And where 10 or 15 batteries are installed, it takes even more time to charge them.

Talking about lithium batteries, you will also find such lithium batteries in the market which get fully charged in about 4 hours. Because Lithium battery supports high current charging, so that even if you charge it with high current, there is no impact on its life and you can also charge the battery very quickly.

4.Harmful Gas and Acid

As we all know, chemical reaction takes place in lead acid battery. Due to which the lead acid battery releases a lot of harmful gases during charging and discharging as well as the acid present in the lead acid battery. It also runs out of battery many times. Due to which the floor of our house gets damaged.

To avoid all the problems, we have to install the lead acid battery in a separate room where we do not go frequently and it has to be installed in an open room so that air can easily come into the room and it can be stored in the room. Gas should not accumulate.

5. Heavy Weight

Just as lead acid batteries require a lot of space to be stored, lead acid batteries also weigh a lot. If we talk about a 150Ah battery, it weighs approximately 50kg. And if someone has to install a system of four batteries, then the weight of the four batteries installed in it will be approximately 200Kg.

But if we talk about the weight of the lithium battery, if you install one lithium battery equal to four lead acid batteries, then its weight will be about 50 K, that is, the lithium battery is about 4 to 5 times lighter than the lead acid battery.

6.Life

Generally, we get a warranty of 3 to 5 years on lead acid batteries. If you use it with proper care then the life of lead acid battery is only about 5 years. Because we get about 600 life cycles in lead acid batteries.
The biggest reason for reducing the life of lead acid batteries is that they have slow charging, but many people charge lead acid batteries with high current due to which their life gets reduced significantly.

But on the other hand, you get about 3000 life cycles in Lithium battery, so that battery can easily last for 10 to 15 years. And high current charging is supported in lithium battery, hence there is no adverse effect on its life.

You will see these 6 shortcomings in lead acid batteries. If you want to avoid all these shortcomings then you can use lithium battery. The only advantage you will get in lead acid battery is its price. If you replace it with a lithium battery, it will cost you a little bit, but considering its benefits, its price has been kept absolutely right.
