These are the largest solar plants in the world: India’s largest solar plant Top 5 Largest Solar Power Plants in the World

As we all know, most of the resources like coal, oil, and natural gas are being used to generate electricity but these are all non-renewable resources which cannot be regenerated. That is why now many countries are using solar energy. Going towards energy which is a renewable energy source.

To promote solar energy, many countries have set up large solar plants so that they can depend more and more on solar energy and reduce their dependence on resources like coal and oil. There is a competition among all the countries to set up the biggest solar plant. All the countries are preparing to set up the biggest solar plant against each other. In today’s post, we will tell you about some of the biggest five solar power plants in the world. Will go.

Table of Contents

  • 1.Bhadla Solar Park, India
  • 2. Huanghe Hydropower Hainan Solar Park- China

1.Bhadla Solar Park, India

Location: Rajasthan, India
Capacity: 2245 MW

World’s largest solar park – Bhadla Solar Park is the world’s largest solar park. It is spread over an area of 14000 acres. It is located in Jodhpur district of Rajasthan. Earlier, Pavagadh Solar Park located in Karnataka was the largest solar park.

This solar park has been built at a cost of approximately Rs 10,000 crore. About 33165 lakh units of electricity is generated every year from this solar plant.

This solar park has been built in four phases under the MNRE scheme. The electricity from the solar plant installed in the first phase is being charged at the rate of Rs 6.45 per unit. And from the plant built later, electricity is available at Rs 2.44 per unit. About one crore solar panels have been used to build this solar park.

2. Huanghe Hydropower Hainan Solar Park- China

Location : Qinghai province, China
Capacity: 2200 MW
This solar park is built in China and it is the largest solar park in China. The capacity of this solar park is 2.2 GW which makes it the second largest solar park in the world. About 2.3 billion dollars will be spent to build this solar park. The expense was covered. The special thing about this solar power plant is that this solar plant can store 202 mw of electricity.

This solar plant was built in 5 phases and is spread over 564 acres. This solar plant was started in 2020. Plans are underway to make this solar plant bigger in the future.

3. Pavagada Solar Park, India

Location : Karnataka, India
Capacity: 2050 MW

Pavagada Solar Park is in Tumkur district of Karnataka, India. The capacity of this solar park is 2.05 GW, which makes it the third largest solar park in the world.

This solar plant was built in 5 phases and is spread over 13000 acres. This solar plant was started in 2019. Plans are underway to make this solar plant bigger in the future. It has been developed by Karnataka Solar Power Development Corporation (KSPDCL).

It cost about 2 billion dollars to build this solar park. This solar park generates 22% of the electricity used in Karnataka.

4. Benban Solar Park, Egypt

Location : Aswan Governorate, Egypt
Capacity: 1650 MW

This solar park is located in Benban village of Egypt. The capacity of this solar plant is about 1650 MW and it can produce about 3.8TWh electricity in 1 year.
This park is spread over approximately 9000 acres. At present this solar park provides electricity to more than 4,20,000 houses.

5. Tengger Desert Solar Park, China

Location : Ningxia, China
Capacity: 1547 MW

This is the fifth largest solar park in the world which is located in China. The capacity of this solar park is about 1547 MW which is spread over about 1200 kilometers. This solar park was started in 2017 and currently it covers about 6 lakh houses. Provides electricity to.

Governments around the world are engaged in increasing the capacity of all the solar parks installed in their countries so that they can get maximum electricity from solar energy because the cost of setting up a solar park comes only once. After that until the solar panels work. They keep generating electricity. Only the solar park has to be maintained.
