The quiz is a nationwide competition. The RBI Quiz Competition is an exciting opportunity for undergraduate students to win cash prizes. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI), India’s central bank, was established on April 1, 1935. This year marks the 90th year of the Bank’s operations. A series of events are being held to commemorate this historic milestone.

The RBI90Quiz 2024 is a general knowledge competition that starts online and progresses through state and zonal rounds, ending with a national final. It offers great prizes and is open to all undergraduate students from any field of study.
Governor Shri Shaktikanta Das, expressed confidence that the contest would help create greater awareness about the Reserve Bank and the financial ecosystem among the students. He further added that RBI has been encouraging the youth to cultivate responsible financial behaviour and develop the habit of safe and secure usage of digital financial products through its public awareness campaigns.

Eligibility Criteria for RBI90Quiz
- The RBI90Quiz is for undergraduate students in any field from recognized colleges in India.
- Participants must be Indian citizens.
- Participants must be 25 years old or younger as of September 1, 2024.
- Only those born on or after September 1, 1999, can join.
- RBI employees and their immediate family members cannot participate.
- Employees and family members of agencies involved with RBI in organizing the quiz are also not eligible.
RBI90Quiz Registration
Before you continue to register for the quiz, here are some essential guidelines that you must know about.
- Participants are required to register for the quiz in teams of two members from the same college. There is no limit to the number of teams that can register from a college.
- Registration is free of charge.
- Teams that do not find their college name during registration may submit their college details via the Colleges tab / Contact Us form / live chat / helpline. They will be notified via email when their college is added to the registration list.
- Both team members must provide their individual names, gender, date of birth (as mentioned in Class X certificate), email ID, mobile number, and Student ID number (if ID Card has not been issued, the number mentioned on the bonafide certificate/authority letter/ validation letter/ authorization letter issued by the college/university must be provided). These credentials will be verified if the team is selected for the subsequent rounds and if found incorrect/incomplete, will lead to disqualification.
- In case the members of a team need to be changed after registration (but before registration closes) the previous registration can be deleted and the team can be registered with the new composition. If selected through the online round, the same team will continue for the subsequent rounds of the quiz.
- Visually Impaired candidates may indicate their categorisation by selecting the box provided. It may be noted that the requisite certificate will be verified in case of proceeding to the subsequent rounds.
- Upon filling the requisite fields, and post verification of the same, both team members will receive an auto-generated team code (same code). The team can use this code to log in with their password on the designated day/s for the online quiz.
Steps for Registration Process
- Step – 1 – You can click on the link to land on the registration page directly.
- Step – 2 – Go through the Rules and then click on the Register button at the bottom.
- Step – 3 – Start by entering your State/ Union Territory, District, and College.
- Step – 4 – In case you do not find your college in the list, click on ‘Register here’ offered at the bottom of the college box to register your college.
- Step – 5 – Next, enter the details of both the team members.
- Step – 6 – Click on the confirmation box, stating that you abide by the rules set by RBI for the quiz.
- Step – 7 – Go through the details once again and hit the Submit button.
- You can receive a confirmation message or email soon with your registered contact information.
How to Register Your College?
- Many students may not find their college in the list while registering themselves for the quiz. Such candidates can submit their college details to get on the list and then register. Here is the process to do so.
- Step – 1 – On the registration form page, click on the Register Here option just below the College box.
- Step – 2 – Enter your name and select your designation from the given options.
- Step – 3 – Enter your email and phone number.
- Step – 4 – Enter college details in the message section and submit it.
- You will receive an email once your college is added and then you can register for the quiz.
RBI90Quiz Level
The quiz has four stages.
- Countrywide online quiz: MCQ based format in online mode.
- State Level round: Those qualifying through the online round will advance to the in-person state level quiz competition.
- Zonal round: State level winners will compete at Zonal levels. (States are categorized in 5 zones)
- National Final: Zonal winners will compete in the final round.
RBI90Quiz Format
- This is a timed quiz with 36 multiple choice questions of varying difficulty levels and 25 – second time limit to answer each question. (Total Quiz Duration: 15 minutes). Teams with visually impaired student/s will be granted additional 25 seconds per question resulting in a total quiz time of 30 minutes.
- The questions will be available in Hindi and English. Participants will have to choose their language option as either English or Hindi at the time of taking the quiz.
- Each correct answer earns 1 point. There are no penalties for incorrect answers.
- Periodic sample quizzes will also be posted on the platform, and these will not require any special code to participate. Multiple attempts at sample quizzes are allowed.
Tie Breaker Rules
- Ties, if any, will be resolved on the basis of the least amount of time taken for completing the quiz. For the teams with visually impaired student/s, the actual time taken will be halved. If ties still remain, the decision will be based on the number of difficult questions answered correctly.
- In case ties still persist, the decision will be taken based on the amount of time taken to attempt those difficult questions.
Technical Requirements
- The platform is designed to work on all internet browsers. Stable internet connection will be required.
- Right-clicking, copying, and opening another tab/window are disabled and will lead to auto-submission of the quiz.
RBI90Quiz Selection Process
- The RBI will conduct a thorough selection process after the registration of the participants is done.
Selection for Subsequent Rounds
- Based on the extent of participation, a specified number of teams, limited to a maximum of 2 teams per college, will be selected from each State-1 for the in-person rounds at the State Level, subject to verification of details submitted at the time of registration.
- In case of teams qualifying through the online quiz, expenses related to travel and stay for the subsequent rounds will be borne by RBI subject to internally fixed limits.
Other Specifications
- Teams are requested to avoid using any unfair means at any stage of the quiz.
- There are no registration fees. Any communication by any party indicating participation fee in cash or kind is fraudulent and should not be entertained.
- Registration for the quiz shall imply that the student indicates his/her acceptance to receive updates/communication related to the quiz on his/her contact details from the organisers. It also implies that the participants, who move on to the subsequent rounds consent to being recorded/ photographed by electronic and print media for telecast / publication and usage of such electronic/print material solely by RBI.
- RBI reserves the right to reject any team’s participation without prior notice or to alter the rules and other terms as deemed fit. All decisions made by RBI in this regard are final.
- In case of teams qualifying for the subsequent round, verification of information submitted by them at the time of registration will be carried out. If any discrepancies are observed, it will result in disqualification.
- Students are requested to read the rules and FAQs and all other updates related to the quiz carefully.
- Reserve Bank of India reserves the right to change the modalities of the competition including the right to cancel the competition at any stage without giving any reason.

Once your college is verified, you will receive a notification. Please note that RBI reserves the right to reject college registrations based on incomplete or unverifiable information.
Q. I made an error while registering. What should I do?
- If you wish to change your contact details or the name of the team member, you may delete your registration and register afresh. However, the changes will have to be made before the end of the registration deadline.
Q. Will I receive a confirmation email after registering?
- Yes, both members of the team will receive a confirmation email with the team code. You may login to the website using the team code and password used while registering.
Q. How do I participate in the online quiz after registering?
- On the date of the quiz, log in to your account with the username and password and follow the instructions to participate in the quiz.

- The online quiz will consist of multiple-choice questions covering various topics related to general knowledge such as current affairs, history, literature, sports, economy, finance, trivia etc. Questions related to RBI will also be included.

Q. How much time will I have to complete the online quiz?
- Participants will have maximum of 15 minutes to complete the online quiz, with each question having a time limit of 25 seconds. Teams with visually impaired students will be granted additional 25 seconds per question (total quiz time for visually impaired students will be 30 minutes).

- Yes, the quiz platform is mobile-friendly and can be accessed on smartphones, tablets, laptops and desktop computers.

Q. How will the quiz be scored?
- The quiz will be scored automatically based on the number of correct answers. There are no penalties for incorrect answers. Your team’s score and timing will be displayed immediately after completion.

- The selected list of teams will receive a call/sms/email regarding the confirmation of their selection and the students will then be required to undergo verification of their credentials provided at the time of registration.
