Rabindra Bharati University Admission 2023 – Rabindra Bharati University invites online applications for admission to 2 year integrated Master of Library and Information Science (M.Lib.I.Sc.), 1 year Master of Library and Information Science (M.Lib.I.Sc), B.Ed. Special Education in Visual Impairment & Inclusive Education (B.Ed. Spl. Ed. In V.I. & I.E.) & B.Ed. Special Education in Hearing Impairment & Inclusive Education (B.Ed. Spl. Ed. In H.I. & I.E.), Diploma in Tagore Literature and Post Graduate Diploma in Manuscriptology and Palaeography (PGDMP) Course under the Faculty of Arts for the academic session 2023-2024.

Eligibility Criteria
2 year Integrated M.Lib.I.Sc.
- For Fresher Candidates: Any person having Graduation with honours (10+2+3 pattern) or Master’s degree (with honours) or a technical degree (of the pattern 10+2+4 or 10+2+5) such as Engineering, Computer Application, Pharmacy, Law etc. of any other U.G.C recognized University or Institute.
- For Deputed Candidates: Graduation with honours and working experience as a full-time salaried staff in any Govt./ Govt. aided Libraries/recognized institutions (Govt. or semi Govt.).
- For Certificate – holders in Library Science: Graduation with honours with certificate in Library Science.
1 year Master of Library and Information Science (M.Lib.I.Sc)
- Eligibility Criteria: Graduation with honours (10+2+3 pattern) or Master’s degree (with honours) or a technical degree (of the pattern 10+2+4 or 10+2+5) such as Engineering, Computer Application, Pharmacy, Law etc. from any U.G.C recognized University or Institute or B.Lib.I.Sc. from any U.G.C. recognized University.
- For Deputed Candidates: Being a professional course of study at Master’s Degree level, 40% of the intake of students may be drawn from library professionals of recognized Libraries fulfilling the conditions of aforesaid eligibility criteria for admission
- For fresher Candidates: Break of study permissible up to two years i.e the candidates who have passed B.Lib.I.Sc in 2021, 2022 & 2023 are only eligible to apply.
- Admission Criteria: (a) 80% seat will be reserved for Internal Candidates who have B.Lib,I.Sc, from Rabindra Bharati University. Their admission will be held on the basis of Merit (b) 20% seat will be filled by external candidate (passed B.Lib.I.Sc. from other universities)
B.Ed. Special Education in Visual Impairment & Inclusive Education (B.Ed Spl. Ed. In V.I. & I.E.)
- Eligibility Criteria: Candidates with at least 50% (45% for SC/ST/OBC/PH) marks either in the Bachelor’s Degree and/or in the Master’s degree in Social Sciences/Humanities/ Sciences, Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% (50% for SC/ST/OBC/PH) marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto, are eligible
- Break-of-Studies: Fresher candidates having break of studies for more than five years ( i.e. the last degree obtained should not be prior to 2018) would not be eligible for admission.
B.Ed. Special Education in Hearing Impairment (B.Ed. Spl. Ed. in H.I.)
- Eligibility Criteria: a. Candidates with at least 50% (45% for SC/ST/OBC/PH) marks either in the Bachelor’s Degree and/or in the Master’s degree in Social Sciences/Humanities/ Sciences, Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% (50% for SC/ST/OBC/PH) marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto, are eligible
- Break-of-Studies: Fresher candidates having break of studies for more than two years
Diploma in Tagore Literature: (1 – year)
- Minimum Eligibility: Madhyamik or its equivalent. Students from any stream with Graduate or Post- Graduate qualifications may also apply.
- Intake Capacity: Up to 25 candidates.
- Admission Procedure: Admission to the Diploma in Tagore Literature will be taken according to the marks obtained in Madhyamik or its equivalent.
Post Graduate Diploma Course in Manuscriptology and Palaeography(PGDMP) (1-year)
- Eligibility: Master’s degree in any subject from any UGC recognized University (Knowledge in Sanskrit and Devanagari script will be Desirable).
- Intake Capacity: Up to 25 candidates
- Admission Procedure: Admission to the PG Diploma Course in Manuscriptology and Palaeography will be taken according to the marks obtained in Master’s degree or its equivalent. Knowledge in Sanskrit and Devanagari script is predominant.

- During registration, applicant will be asked to provide an e-mail id and a mobile number, these must be valid ones because initial login password will be sent to the provided e- mail id and mobile number via SMS, and in future, all correspondences in this regard may be made to these e-mail id and the given mobile no. via SMS.
- Applicants must provide valid email id & mobile number. else the registration process will not be completed.
- Candidates interested in admission will be required to collect all information regarding interview/test and admission dates in this regard from the University Website www.rbu.ac.in and online.rbu.net.in from time to time.
