NEET PG 2024 Result Normalization Process
The NBEMS has declared they have adopted the normalization process, which AIIMS-New Delhi uses for its various examinations conducted through more than one shift to prepare the result of NEET PG 2024 conducted in two shifts for the very first time.
The students need to understand this normalization process used to determine their NEET PG 2024 result. The Normalization process has the following guidelines:
- The board will prepare the NEET PG results separately for each shift based on the percentages and raw scores.
- As per the scoring system of the normalization process, the top score of each shift will be transformed into a scaling range of 100 to 0, meaning the top score will be assigned as 100 percentile regardless of the actual percentage or raw scores. This way the top scorer of each shift will get the 100 percentile and the percentile score shows the candidates scored equal to or below the examination percentile (top score of the shift).
- The board will calculate the percentile score to seven decimal places to avoid ties.
- The normalization process ensures clear differentiation of percentile scores for candidates in different shifts based on the top score of the shift.
For instance, suppose the top score of shift 1 is 82%, now it will be normalized to the 100 percentile for shift 1, and the students who score lower than the 100 percentile will rank accordingly.
Under the normalization process, the percentile scores show your rank within your shift, meaning your standing among the candidates of your shifts.
