Nafe Singh Rathee was a well-known name in Haryana. He was a state President of the Indian National Lok Dal Party and a leader of the Jat Community. He has also served as MLA from the Bahadurgarh constituency.
He was born on 22 February 1958 in the village of Jatwada, in Jhajjar district of Haryana. He comes from a family of farmers, his father Mr. Umrao Singh was a farmer and wrestler.
He grew up in a family where wrestling and farming were included in their daily lives, and with time he also got passionate about wrestling.
He participated in various wrestling competitions at the state and national level. He became the President of the All India Style Wrestling Association and represented India in Turkey’s EthnoSports this year.

Political Career of Nafe Singh Rathee
His political career started in the 90s when he won the municipal elections in Bahadurgarh. He served as a Chairman of the Bahadurgarh Municipal Council and worked for the welfare of people and society.
After that, he contested the assembly elections from the Bahadurgarh constituency on the ticket of INLD.
He won his first seat in 1996 and became a member of the 9th Legislative Assembly of Haryana. Due to his work and public support, he got re-elected in 2000 and became a member of the 10th Legislative Assembly of Haryana. He served as the MLA in Haryana Assembly from 1996 to 2005.
Later, he changed the party and shifted to the Bharatiya Janata Party when he did not get the ticket from INLD.
However, he left the BJP due to the ticket and contested elections independently.
In 2018, he came back to the INLD and worked for the party. In 2020, he succeeded Birbal Das Dahlia and became the State President of INLD and died on 25 February 2024.

Controversies related to Nafe Singh Rathee
Last year, in the suicide case of Jagdish Rathee, son of BJP minister Rame Rathee, Nafe Sigh Rathee was declared as the accused.
The family of the Jagdish claimed that Nafe Singh Rathee had harassed him for some property and later committed suicide to escape from the harassment.
The INLD party has denied their claim and termed the accusation as a political conspiracy to put them down in the upcoming elections.
Nafe Singh Rathee Death
In a shocking incident on Sunday, Nafe Singh Rathee has left this world. He was shot dead in broad daylight when he was traveling in his SUV with his party worker and a few private security personnel in Jhajjar district, Bahadurgarh.
According to the reports, Rathee suffered multiple gunshots in the open fire and he was declared dead when he was taken to the hospital.
The party worker also lost his life in this encounter while the private gunman was critically injured.
After the incident, the police suspected gangster Lawrence Bishnoi in this incident and committed to catching the culprit as soon as possible. His son Jitender Rathee has said they will not do the last rites of his father until the murderers of his father are caught by the police force.
