How to Apply for IGNOU Distance Education
IGNOU is one of the best universities for open education. If you do not know how to apply for IGNOU courses, we have listed here the steps.
- Before applying you have to scan your documents like photo, signature, 10+2 or its equivalent report card and pass out certificate.
- If you are joining IGNOU courses for the first time, then you have to register yourself for the IGNOU admission process by creating a username and password.
- To register yourself, visit the IGNOU official website: www.ignou.ac.in
- On the website, you will see the link which is like admission opened for the January cycle or admission opened for the July cycle.
- Click on the link for IGNOU online admission for (the cycle you are eligible) which is for all types of courses.
- You should read all the instructions before starting online registration. In which, all the necessary documents required to fill the admission form is mentioned.
- After this you have to fill the student login form to create a username and password. This information cannot be changed further, therefore, be careful while filling this form.
- After submitting this form, you can now login to the Student Online Admission System.
- Remember the login ID and password.
- After login into the system using username and password, you will get 8 steps online form required for taking admission through IGNOU Registration Process.
- In the first step you have to fill all the personal details which include birthdate, gender, and scholarship details. Submit it and proceed to the next step.
- The second step is to fill the program details. In which, you have to provide details about, in which course you want to take admission. here you can select program details, mode of study and all the other information.
- You have to fill qualification details in the third step. Where you have to provide educational details like year of passing, marks in the previous courses, etc.
- In the fourth step, you will go through curriculum details and can choose to get study material in digital form or printed form.
- The fifth and sixth step is to fill the corresponding details.
- Next you have to upload all the necessary documents. Where you have to upload scanned copies of documents.
- In the last step, you must do the payment of course fees through online mode. You can do the payment by debit card or credit card or net banking.
- After this, you can check Registration status on IGNOU online portal.

IGNOU ASSIGNMENTS:
IGNOU gives a Tutor Marked Assignment in every year. You have to submit all the assignments before the semester exam and within the deadline. Otherwise, you cannot pass the written examination.
