Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee has started GATE 2025 registration for the students who want to pursue their postgraduate studies in engineering, technology, architecture, and related fields. The last date for registration of Gate 2025 will be 26 September(without late fee) and 24 October 2024(with late fee).

GATE 2025 GOAPS
Candidates can only complete their application through the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) on the official website. The process to get GOAPS is based on several factors. Firstly, interested applicants may need to create an account on the official website with valid email, mobile number, and a unique password to register.
After that your applicant account and GOAPS login will be open on the official website. This GOAPS login will help you to register, fill out an application form, download an admit card, and check the result for GATE 2024. GATE 2025 Eligibility Criteria
The candidates who are interested in Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 registration and examination must verify the qualifying requirements from below:
Nationality:
- Applicants must be residents of India.
Age Limit:
- The registration and examination of GATE 2025 does not require any age limit.
Education Qualification:
- Interested individuals who have completed their Bachelor’s degree or in the 3rd year or in the higher of government approved degree of technology, engineering, science, architecture, etc can register themselves for the GATE 2025.
GATE 2025 Application Fee
The application fee is a compulsory requirement from all the applicants at the time of GATE registration 2025 and is varied based on individual category. Applicants need to take a screenshot or print out of the transaction slip for proof at the time of paying.
The interested candidates application fee for the unreserved category is ₹1800 and for the female/reserved category is ₹900. It’s important to note that there will be a high application fee for the Foreign Nationals and those who will register after the initial deadline of application submission.
The national foreign have to pay ₹1800 if they apply till 26 September and ₹2300 if they apply between 27 September to 24 October 2024. The application fee will be paid only through different modes including credit card, debit card or net banking.
How to Register for GATE 2025?
The step-by-step guide on the registration process of GATE 2025 is given below for the interested candidates to follow at the time of applying:
- Individuals must visit the official website accessible at for GATE registration 2025.
- Here you have to find an option “apply online” and login with your GOAPS login details.
- Then you will get a form to apply for GATE 2025 which will require your personal details as well as qualification details such as the name of the institution, year of passing, and percentage or CGPA obtained.
- Individuals have to attach a photograph, a scanned copy of their signature, or other relevant documents.
- After that you have to choose two GATE papers based on your eligibility and interest.
- Pay the application fee according to your category at this point and double check all the provided information.
- In the last step, After submitting your application form, you must download or take a print out of your application form for future reference.
GATE 2025 Exam Date & Pattern
The GATE 2025 will be taken on four different dates in the month of February 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025. The exam will be conducted in a CBT and will be based on a total of 30 test papers. Applicants have the option to appear for one or two test papers based on their eligibility and interests and the questions will be a mix of MCQs, MSQs, and NAT questions.
The exam will test several abilities, including recall, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis, etc and the exam is divided into two main sections which are General Aptitude (GA) and the candidate’s selected subject.
It’s important to note that each correct answer will be marked by 1 or 2 and incorrect answers will see a deduction of 1/3 or 2/3 marks in MCQs type questions and there will be no negative marking for MSQs and NAT questions.
