CGHS Beneficiary ID – How to link with Ayushman Bharat Health Account?

The Union Health Ministry announced in a memorandum that as of April 1, it will be required to link the beneficiary ID of the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) with the Ayushman Bharat Health Account ID.Within 30 days, the Ayushman Bharat Health Account ID and the CGHS beneficiary ID must be linked.

CGHS Beneficiary ID

The CGHS was established in 1954 to offer medical treatment to central government workers and retirees who are registered in the program. Workers of the  CGHS who work for the Central government will now be required to link their CGHS beneficiary ID to their ABHA ID.

The Department of Health & Family Welfare of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare stated in an office memo dated March 28, 2024, “It is currently accepted that linking CGHS beneficiary ID with ABHA ID shall be compulsory w.e.f 1st April.” 

It also said that All current CGHS beneficiaries must link their CGHS beneficiary ID with their ABHA ID within 30 days. The purpose of integrating the Ayushman Bharat ID with the CGHS beneficiary ID is to create a digital health identity for CGHS beneficiaries and store their digital health information.

CGHS Beneficiary ID

How do you link your CGHS beneficiary ID to your ABHA ID? 

A CGHS beneficiary must obtain an ABHA number if he does not already have one, then connect it to his CGHS beneficiary account. According to a health department if you work for the central government and use CGHS, here is the step-by-step procedure of how to link your beneficiary ID with the ABHA ID:

  • Navigate to the webpage. 
  • Hit and locate the beneficiary login option from the Beneficiaries’ section. 
  • A form is displayed on screen 
  • Enter your beneficiary ID, password, and then fill the reCAPTCHA. 
  • Hit the sign in button. 
  • From the Update menu, select “Create or Link ABHA ID” to create and link an ABHA ID.
  • When generating an ABHA ID for a family person, make sure that each person is mapped after the primary cardholder’s login using the Beneficiary login.
  • Pick I do not possess an ABHA number.
  • After reading the terms and conditions and entering your Aadhaar number, you have to confirm your permission.
  • Hit on the ‘Verify OTP’ button after entering the OTP that was delivered to the phone number after registering with Aadhaar. 
  • The ‘Link Status’ option is shown. The individual may print the ABHA card by hitting on the print ABHA card if the information matches.

How do You link your CGHS beneficiary ID to ABHA ID with ABHA number? 

If you already have an ABHA number, then step by step procedure to link your CGHS ID to your ABHA ID or account given below:

  • Navigate to the webpage. 
  • Hit and locate the beneficiary login option from the Beneficiaries’ section. 
  • A form is displayed on screen 
  • Enter your beneficiary ID, password, and then fill in the reCAPTCHA
  • Click the sign in button. 
  • Hit on the Link Using ABHA Number,’ input the number. Give your approval after carefully reading the permission collection form.
  • After tapping the ‘Get OTP’ option, your Aadhaar-registered cell phone number will receive the OTP. 
  • Select the ‘Verify OTP’ option after entering the OTP.
  •  You can check the status of your ABHA ID and CGHS beneficiary ID. You may select ‘Print ABHA Card’ and print it out if the information matched.
