  • Bathing the Idol: The idol is bathed in milk and other sacred substances, symbolising its purification and preparation for the infusion of the life force.
  • Applying Fragrances: After the bath, fragrances are applied to the idol, signifying its consecration.
  • Mantras and Hymns: Priests recite specific mantras and perform rituals to infuse the idol with prana, the life force, and invite the deity to be resident in the idol.
  • Opening the Divine Eye: The Chaksu͡unmilan ceremony, or the opening of the divine eye, marks the high point of the ritual, after which the idol is considered consecrated and blessed.
